Ethiopians pay tribute for the late His Grace Abune Melke Tsedik

The death of His Grace Abune Mleke Tsedik Bishop of the Dioces Hadyya and Silte in the South Ethiopia is said a heart break for many Ethiopian Christian Community and his fans. Several hundred Worshipers are also paying their tribute.

Ethiopians pay tribute for the late His Grace Abune Melke TsedikOn Sunday’s Church service in London Kesis Addiss of the Debre Genet Holy Trinity Church informed Orthodox Church’s followers about the sad news in related with death of the late Abune Melka Tsedik who passed away seven days ago. He further said:” The church shocked of this sad news. We believe that heaven would be his destination, but it is a great lose for the church and her Children “ Because of his apostolic mission ,as former Archbishop of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church in North Western Europe , his death became double grief for several hundred Ethiopian , who knew him in person. It is said that prayer services were conducted all over Europe .

A forwarded e-mail to this writer’s address revealed that several hundred Ethiopian Orthodox Christian Community have already shown their sympathy for the late Abune Melke Tsedike via a newly created web site hhtp://abune-melketsedek.gone too soon.org.

Here in London ,other concerned Orthodox Church members are also going to gather on Sunday July 4th 2010 in Peck ham area(South East London ) from 6pm to 8pm . It is said that they will have to discuss different issues including : how to continue their support for those children ,who live in Muher monastery, in the absence of their spiritual father , the late Abune Melka Tsedik. His Holiness is remembered for his impressive and direct involvement about the wellbeing of those needy Ethiopian children, by collecting money and materials that direct go to their education and basic needs .It is also reported that he had a plan to build an advanced level Educational institution in Addis , to contribute his role to eradicate poverty and illiteracy in Ethiopian . This would be consider good example for many religious leaders , politicians and public figures , who have the power to make difference , but failed to do so.
