Queen Elizabeth II of England sent a message of felicitation to President Girma Wolde Giorgis in connection with the 19th anniversary of May 28.
According to a statement the British Embassy in Addis Ababa sent to ENA on Thursday, the Queen expressed warmest greetings to the President and the public.

The Queen in her congratulatory message wished peace and prosperity to the Ethiopian people, the statement said.

She holds each crown separately and equally in a shared monarchy, as well as acting as Head of the Commonwealth. As a constitutional monarch, she is politically neutral and by convention her role is largely ceremonial.[1] In the United Kingdom, she is Supreme Governor of the established Church of England.
