Ethiopia, China sign 25.1 million USD loan agreement

Addis Ababa, May 24, 2010 (Addis Ababa) -Ethiopia and China signed here on Monday a loan agreement amounting to 25.1 million USD.
The loan will be used to procure an electrical inspecting systems scanner for the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority.

The equipment will help the Authority to scan imported containers and vehicles.

Finance and Economic Development Minister, Sufian Ahmed and Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Gu Xiaojie signed the agreement.

Sufian on the occasion said the loan will help to modernize working system of the authority.

The Ambassador Gu Xiaojie on his part said his embassy will further strengthen efforts to enhance existing relations between the two countries.
