Election results being made official in Dire Dawa

DireDawa, May 24, 2010 (DireDawa) - Results for the 4th national elections are being made public in polling stations in Diredawa town, town constituency coordinators announced.

Coordinators of constituency one and two offices in the town, Etefa Ali and Getu Birra told ENA on Monday that vote counting was carried out in the presence of public observers, the European Union and the African Union election observation missions as well as representatives of candidates.

They said the vote counting process was free, fair, peaceful and democratic and was held in mutual understanding.

The coordinators said the election results are being made official at polling stations.

Vote counting process was as peaceful as the voting process in the town, they said.

Some residents said they accept the results with bless as the election was held in free, fair, peaceful and democratic manner.
