Addis Ababa, March 3, 2010 (Addis Ababa) Construction of the 5.8-km Megenagna-Diaspora Square -Menelik Hospital and Kebena-Arat Kilo road launched at a cost of 179 million birr will be completed in the coming April 2010, the Addis Ababa Roads Authority said.
Authority General Manager Eng. Fekadu Haile told ENA that Megenagna-Menilik Hospital road is 40 meter wide while Kebena-Arat Kilo road is 30 meters wide.

Kebena and Ginfile bridges which are parts of the two roads have been constructed at a cost of 21 million birr, he said.

Construction of the road was launched in 1998 EC with the budget allocated by the Ethiopian and Chinese governments.

Some drivers and residents of the city said construction of the road would ease traffic congestion in the city.

They said the government has attached prime attention to the construction of roads which is a manifestation of fast development.

Chinese company , CRBC Addis Engineering is undertaking the construction of the road while Beza Consultant Engineering is a consulting company.
