Close to $ 124 million was obtained from manufacturing industry products export during the past five months, the Ministry of Industry (MoI) said.

Communications Corporate Director with the ministry, Melaku Taye said that the revenue was gained from leather and leather products, textile and garments, agro-processing, pharmaceutical and chemicals export.

Leather and leather products, textile and garments as well as agro-processing generated $ 62.4 million, $38.8 million and $ 19.7 million, respectively, while the remaining $3.08 was earned from pharmaceutical and chemicals, he said. The manufacturing industry sector is generating more foreign currency to the country, he added.
