Hyundai Motor Group has donated two mobile clinics to the Ministry of Health in a bid to demostrate its corporate social responsibility following the official visit of the President of Korean Republic last week. The company also plans to donate eight such health centers to four other African countries. The mobile units are of two types; one equipped for internal medicine and the other equipped with a digital x-ray machine. The unit cost of each is estimated to be close to 500 thousand dollars. The company also donates 40 thousand dollars to Habitat for Humanity Ethiopia, a local non governmental organization, .

The mobile digital x-ray clinic has remote diagnostic systems in addition to the x-ray machine while the mobile internal medicine clinic will feature the latest medical devices such as digital ultrasonic technology and a portable electrocardiogram. It can conduct basic medical tests such as malaria screening.

The other four African countries which will receive two mobile clinics each are the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Nigeria and Rwanda, according to the information obtained from the Global Public Relations Office of the automaker company.

The mobile clinics are built on Hyundai’s four-wheel-drive truck in order to overcome challenging road conditions in remote areas of operation.
