US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton has commended the stride that Africa has made in democracy building and development.



Hilary Clinton lauds Africa’s achievements in democracy bldg, dev’t In a speech to diplomats at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa on Monday, the Secretary of State said six of the ten world nations that have registered the fastest economic growth over the past decade are sub Saharan African countries.



She expressed the keen interest of the United States government to work closely with the African Union on political and economic issues of common concern.



Hillary Clinton has arrived in Addis Ababa on Monday on a two-day working visit to Ethiopia.



Foreign and Deputy Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn, senior government officials and diplomats from the US embassy in Addis Ababa, warmly welcomed Clinton upon her arrival at Bole International Airport.
