Ethiopian government has bolstered security around Addis Ababa, the country's capital, ahead of Hillary Clinton's visit on Monday. While in Ethiopia, the U.S. Secretary of State meet with both Ethiopian and African Union officials.

Hilary Clinton to meet Jean Ping and Meles Zenawi Clinton, accompanied by several US officials, is expected to highlight issues related to political cooperation between the United States and Africa during a meeting with African leaders at the African Union (AU) Commission headquarters on June 13, 2011.

The meeting will mark the first time a US secretary of state addresses the full 53-member AU at the commission's headquarters in the Ethiopian capital.

While "African countries are very deeply divided and conflicted over Libya,” according to official reports, Clinton's meeting with AU officials will seek to urge them to take a firmer stance on the embattled Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi.

In a separate meeting with AU Commission chairperson, Jean Ping, Hilary Clinton will also underline US Africa foreign policy.

Clinton is also scheduled to hold talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi.

Her talks with Zenawi will focus on bilateral trade, Ethiopia's current political atmosphere as well as regional issues, with particular emphasis on the situation in the Sudan and Somalia.
