Ethiopia to Build Five Earthquake Recording Stations
   
 
 
   
 
Five Earthquake Recording Stations will be built in differently parts of the country with 100,000 US dollars secured from the Swedish Government, the Addis Ababa University said here on Saturday

The stations to be built will be connected with the main station in Addis Ababa, Geophysics, Space and Astronomy Institute with the University told ENA in an interview.

The building of the stations wills enable to provide information on earthquake that may occur in any where of the country in a speedy way, a researcher with the Institute, Dr. Atalay Ayele said.

According to Dr. Atalay, the stations to be built in Makelle, Arba-minch, Jimma, Robe and Jijiga towns would also help to detect earthquake that may occur outsides of the country.

The building of the stations will raise the number of Earthquake Recording stations to 14 from existing 9.
