Isayas Puts Christians through Ordeal

By Gubae Gundarta

The whistle-blower website, Wikileaks revealed that the Eritrean President Isyas Afeworki caused so many followers of Christianity and a handful of Muslims to undergo grave tribulations in Sawa Military Camp. The website said the president can masquerade as both a Christian and a Muslim depending on whether he is around Muslim or Christian clerics.

A Christian woman, Seble Hagos Mebrahatu was killed in the military camp when she was found reading a Bible, the report indicated.

According to Wikileaks there are over 3000 Christians locked up in prisons across the country. Adding, the document also said that the prisoners do not get enough food and water. They are allowed to have few loaves of bread, not for more than three times per day but owing to a serious lack of access to drinking water, they are sometimes forced to drink the water they pass.
