Seven terrorists trained, armed and infiltrated into Ethiopia by the Eritrean regime have been arrest, the Afar Special Force and Police said.

The terrorists were caught on 17 January 2011 while trying to break into the Afar region of Ethiopia through a place called Gura’ale. They had set off from Asab city and were heading for Chifranati, a place in Afar, via the Afdera-Teru route.

Seven terrorists apprehended in Afar, EthiopiaThe terrorists were instructed by the Eritrean regime to perpetuate attacks on public busses, fuel depots, public centers and development facilities. They were armed with around 50 kilograms of explosives and various other weapons.

They were also supplied with a large amount of Ethiopian currency, which was intended for the execution of their evil mission. In reference to tip off given to it by members of the local community, the Afar Special Force and Police opened a surprise attack the terrorists and captured all of them along with all the armaments. Only a member of the terrorist group was wounded.

The detainees confessed that they were trained, armed and infiltrated by the Eritrean regime to perpetuate attacks on public busses, fuel depots, public centers and development facilities in Ethiopia.

The public and the police force in Bati woreda of the Oromia Special Zone in Amhara state have joined forces with the Afar Special Force and Police in warding off the current terror plot.

The Afar Special Force and Police had previously averted various other terror plots.
