The House of People’s Representatives (HPR) has approved the draft proclamation prepared to amend the income tax with a majority vote.

In its first year 6th regular meeting on Thursday, the House also approved the motion prepared to amend the proclamation on income tax.

Assistant Government Whip with the rank of State Minister, Wondimu Gezahegn on the occasion said the amendment of the proclamation would make tax collection system efficient and fair.

The new bill will be registered as amended income tax proclamation number 693/2003.

The proclamation shall enter into force on the date of publication in the Federal ‘Negarit’ Gazette.
