EAST builds new studios in America and Europe

The Ethiopian Satellite Service (ESAT) is said working round the clock to build its additional studios in America and Europe. It also informed its listeners that the off aired satellite program would be on air soon.
Hiber Radio, Las Vegas based Amharic Radio quoted senior officials of ESAT that the new Studios are going to be opened in Washington and London. It also announced the off aired ESAT’s program would start its 24 hours program for Ethiopians’ viewers all over the world. It also reported that Wro Meron Ahadu, Secretary General of ESAT’s Advisory Board expressed her gratitude for all ESAT viewers for their support and keen interest to see the Satellite program to be on air .

Recently, one ESAT’s member, also assured Ethiopian community in London that despite the multiple interference that affected ESAT it would reach its viewers soon. He further said: "At first, when ESAT came on air , we received more than 1000 telephone calls per day from our Ethiopians viewers. We understood about their hunger and necessity of getting an alternative media in Ethiopia. ESAT hasn’t broadcasted all its programs yet , but we are encouraged by those feedbacks’ we have received from our esteemed viewers for our contribution within those short period of times. I would like to reassure you that ESAT would be back on its track soon." He reminded the public that the newly and independent TV program was established by several Ethiopians who contributed in different terms including giving their houses as guarantee.” He also requested people to continue their contribution for ESAT either in material ,money, or their works. It’s reported that ESAT has been off air since June 9,2010 for the second time.
In related news, some concerned Ethiopians in Diasporas are also raising some questions about the state owned Ethiopian Television (ETV) that is trying to be on air in different part of the world. According to those concerned people, while international medias such as VOA, the DW radio and the newly ,ESAT are being jammed either by the ruling party in Ethiopia or third party (on behalf of the Ethiopian government) ,EPRDF attempts to disseminate “its propaganda” to the Diasporas with out any intervention. They are raising a moral question that whether it is necessary to switch ETV on or off.
