Ethiopian Israeli Girl Sues School Bus Driver for Racial Assault

An Ethiopian college-girl, a student of Rishon Lizion files a suit against the college’s shuttle service driver for demeaning racial remarks. Varkar Yadeno, the Ethiopian student said the driver, Yakar Nisin, attacked her incessantly with acts that violated her rights.

Weinrib, a newspaper based in Telaviv, reported that Pitah Tikish Magistrate was handling the case and the prosecutor had already confirmed that Yakar did indeed scar the girl with racial slurs in front of passengers. The driver has been reported to have said to the girl on several accounts, “You black people are useless; you should return to where you came from. I even doubt if you really belong to the Jewish community. Even if others don’t mind and keep quiet, I can deport you. You can’t live with us here. You are rather tarnishing our country.”

Varkar is a student of Psychology in the Academic College of Management. She said the driver would not let her board while she was going to Telaviv, but she hopped in when Yakar pulled over for other students. However, he threw her out of the vehicle saying, “Ethiopians are not allowed to get on cars.”

Yakar was said to have been fined by being denied his six-month salary for another misdemeanor and was charged with another accusation following this last case that had to do with the indictment of the Ethiopian student.
