Ethiopia's federal court ruled Thursday that 11 people should face terror charges after prosecutors said they formed a cell with an al-Qaida-linked group from neighboring Somalia.

The charges come amid signs of increasing militancy in the East African nation. Ethiopian troops moved into Somalia at the beginning of the year to fight the Somali militant group al-Shabab.

The attendant, Asrat Mamo, was taken to the hospital Wednesday night in critical condition after he was found unconscious on the ground at the parking lot on 13th and Locust Streets. Police are still investigating the motive for the attack, which they do not believe was robbery. Mamo still had cash and a cellphone on him when he was found, they said. The booth Mamo was working in did not have a cash register. Investigators believe Mamo may have known at least one of the people involved in the attack.
