Ethiopia gears up to host African fashion week

APA-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Ethiopia is scheduled to host “Hub of Africa Fashion Week” from September 23rd to 25th 2010 where many African designers are expected to take part, organizers said here on Tuesday.

The show, according to the organizers will showcase the latest collections in clothing, footwear and accessories from emerging local designers hailing from six African countries.

The fashion week is being coordinated by Clairvoyant Marketing Agency and Yoha Entertainment.

The event “aims to ‘Unite the Industry for Sustainable Development’ by featuring young up-coming fashion designers from Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Somalia, DRC and Tanzania as a means to create synergy.”

Additional guest designers from Italy and Germany have been invited to participate, said the organizers.

The event will highlight, among others, Ethiopia’s award-winning footwear brand Sole Rebels.
