Alliance- Ethio Francise hosted “Gerdosh” a romantic family film in collaboration with Cinema Club Addis. The film was produced and directed by professor Haimanot Alemu , acting lecturer in the theatrical art department at Addis Ababa University.

Produced in 2004,. The film is based on a book by Sisay Nigusu, which was written in the 1970s. It the first film which, is adopted from one of Sisay’s books.
Wondaferash is a family man who is married and has two kids. He met Rosa and fell in love with her so he starts having an affair. Everything was okay for him and he thought that he could handle two women until his wife finds out about the affair.

When his wife learned that he has impregnated Rosa she runs out of the house and goes to her parent’s house with her daughter.

Rosa, on the other hand knows that he is married but she does not care because she loves him so much. However, Wondaferash realizes the affair has cost him too much and he begins thinking about his children’s life. In the end he decides to apologize to his wife and return to her with the help of his friend Tamerat.
Sirak Taddese ,Sinafekish Tesfaye and Haimanot Alemu participated in the film.

Cinema Club Addis promotes French and Ethiopian movies directed by beginners. The aim of the program is to create a dialogue forum between the audience and the directors of the movie. They hold dialogues about the film and all its components including acting, story-telling and direction, to encourage the film industry.

The audience had a chance to talk about the movie and ask questions. “I was really happy about the feedback and discussion held after the movie with the audience, Professor Haimanot said.”
