Art of Ethiopia 2010 is scheduled to open today a four-day exhibition of nearly 40 precious works of art created by 40 of Ethiopia’s most recognized artists.

Being held at the Sheraton Addis Hotel, the exhibition will be on display until next Monday from 10am to 10pm with entrance free. The Sheraton Addis Hotel has also prepared a catalogue of the art works on display, along with biographies of each artist. The revenue from these catalogue sales will go into the Sheraton Addis Art Endowment Fund set up to support art initiatives in Ethiopia.

The works of art can be seen by laureate Maître Artiste Afework Tekle, and renowned painters like Ale Felege Selam, Worku Mammo, Abdurahman M. Sherif, Worku Goshu, Tadesse Belaineh, Bekele Abebe, Zerihun Yetmgeta, Desta Hagos, Tadesse Mesfin, Wosene Worke Kosrof, Teshome Bekele, Eshetu Tiruneh, Lulseged Retta, Sisay Beyene, Mezgebu Tesema, Getahun Assefa, Bisrat Shibabaw, Abyalew Assefa, Daniel Taye, Wondwossen Beyene, Girma Seboka, Teferi Mekonnen, Gizachew Kebede, Dawit Abebe, Mathias Lulu, Yosef Lule, Eskinder (Alex) Maffi, Kerima Ahmed, Yitagesu Mergia, Kohar Kevorkian, Afera Teklu, Merikokeb Birhanu, Yacob Bekele, Meron Ermias, Tewodros Hagos, Addis Gezehagn, Bitsuamlak Ashenafi, Aklilu Temesgen, & Nitsusew Terefe.
